Your documents stay with you
EditMyDocument opens and saves files inside your browser. Your lease, pay stub or medical form is never uploaded to our servers, so we never see or keep it. The site is free because it shows ads; our ad partner uses cookies, which you can control under Privacy choices.

Is EditMyDocument free?
Yes. Every tool is free to use with no account and no daily limits. The site is paid for by ads.
Does it work offline?
After your first visit, the main tools keep working without an internet connection, and you can add the site to your home screen like an app.
Are my documents uploaded?
No. Your files are opened, edited and saved inside your browser on your own device. They are never sent to our server. The ads on the site do use cookies; the privacy policy explains how.
Can I change the original text in a PDF?
Yes. Choose Edit text and tap a line. The old words are covered and your new text is placed on top in a matching size. The original is still inside the file underneath, so to remove private details for good, use Redact.
Is a signature I draw here legally valid?
In the US, an electronic signature you adopt with the intent to sign is generally valid under the ESIGN Act. Some documents, like wills and certain court papers, are excluded, and EditMyDocument doesn’t verify identity. When it matters, check with whoever asked you to sign.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Open a file from your phone, sign with your finger, and save the result to Files or Downloads.
